Africa Hunter Quest

“Good advice is where you find it.”
– Scott Fletcher
These articles are about shooting techniques, hunting rifle considerations, hunting equipment considerations, and how to critically/strategically evaluate the terminal performance of an expanding hunting bullet. They are based on “lessons learned” from six hunting trips to South Africa, personal synthetic gel testing of expanding hunting bullets, and data obtained from a personally-funded zebra management hunt. These articles identify technique, rifle, equipment, and ammunition issues that I believe can both directly and indirectly affect hunt outcomes. Consideration of these issues should be with the understanding that what I suggest or have done may not be applicable to specific circumstances, personal priorities, and personal preferences. Take the best and leave the rest.
I avoid naming specific products in these articles, favoring generic descriptions. This is a premeditated effort to maintain the objectivity and independence of this website’s content. Any products shown in photos or described in the articles’ texts are personal choices and should not be considered as an endorsement nor as a judgment of “best”.
